STRATIX recognizes that each organization and its employees/ members/stakeholders is unique — we begin by working to identify and understand the specific needs and expectations of the client.
We consult with representatives of both the employer and employees to develop the process and guidelines for convening an interest-based strategy to solve problems and enhance relationships among the organization and its employees, managers and other stakeholders. Elements include:
What parties will be involved and who will represent them?
What issues will the parties deal with in the interest-based strategy?
How will the costs of training and facilitation be handled?
Who will provide logistical and administrative support for the process?
What will be the schedule for initiating and concluding the interest-based process?
We may conduct a specific assessment to identify the history of the parties’ relationship, current issues confronting the parties, critical aspects of the local environment, and key leaders and influential decision-makers involved.
We design training to meet the specific needs of the parties (identified through the assessment and/or through consultation with representatives) and to prepare the representatives to use the interest-based strategy:
The training is joint — with representatives and influential decision-makers from all parties involved.
The training is experiential — providing the opportunity to learn, practice and reflect on the skills and process of the interest-based strategy.
We facilitate the implementation of the interest-based strategy for problem solving and enhancing relationships:
Initial facilitation helps the parties identify the relationship issues, key interests and critical information needs for each issue — the basis for a work plan and initial schedule involving all issues.
Negotiations or problem solving generally involves sessions of two or three full days (or a series of sessions) to make the most effective use of organizational resources.
